Britain's Got Talent: it's the final!

The final of the second series of Britain's Got Talent is set to take place on Saturday night - with ten acts competing for the top prize. The winner will receive £100,000 as well as being given the chance to perform in front of the Prince Of Wales at this year's Royal Variety Performance. Bookmakers Paddy power have installed 12-year-old singer Faryl Smith - who wowed the judges with her operatic voice - as the favourite to win the series, with odds of 8-11. Electronic string quartet Escala - one of the two acts to qualify from Friday night's semi-final - are second favourites at 6-5, followed by teenage dancer George Sampson at 6-1. The outsiders for the title, according to the bookies, are martial arts duo Strike, who have odds of 125-1. Other acts taking part in the final include boy/girl dance duo Cheeky Monkeys, 14-year-old operatic singer Andrew Johnston and Scottish singer Andrew Muir. Dance acts are represented by the duo Signature - who wowed the public with their Michael Jackson impersonations - and Nemesis, who became the last act to reach the final after they were voted through on Friday night's show. The line-up is completed by Kate Nicholas and her dog Gin with their 'canine freestyle' act. Meanwhile, Simon Cowell has spoken out about the impressive line-up of young performers in this year's series. "Without question, shows like Britain's Got Talent help these kids," he told the Mirror. "We encourage people who have to fight to win instead of privileged stage school brats." "They're a good example to young kids. "When they watch they see it's all about hard work and talent." "I'm very proud because Britain's Got Talent balances all the other stories about Broken Britain," he added. "There's a lot of press about all the bad things going on then someone like George Sampson balances everything out."
