Coronation Street's Carla Connor takes over the factory... and actress Alison King hints maybe Liam too! How is Carla coping after Paul's death? "By throwing herself into work at the factory. She's still totally grief stricken. Paul was her life. Now he's dead it's like she's decided to take over his life." Is the factory hers now then? "Paul's share is hers and it's the major share." Bet Liam's none too pleased she's technically now his boss. "He's not. There are a few moments where it's touch and go whether they'll be able to work together." Do you think they'll make it work? "I hope so. I'm delighted to be working with Rob [James-Collier] who plays Liam. We have such a laugh." Will the power of being the boss go to Carla's head? "She liked laying the law down before! I don't know if it'll go to her head exactly but she wants to be in charge." Does Carla feel as much of a Connor now she doesn't have Paul? "She's still as close to Michelle and Liam – perhaps even more close. The scenes concerning Paul's death and funeral showed that despite their differences and arguments Carla and Liam care about each other." And yet it's Steve McDonald whose shoulder she cries on. What's going on? "There's a moment with Steve when she lets her I-can-cope mask drop but there's nothing in it. Carla doesn't fancy Steve and anyway he's Michelle's man so that would be very bad!" What about Liam... Could Carla fancy him? "She's not ready to fancy anyone at the moment but maybe in time she could start to see him in a non-brotherly way." Would you like a romance with Liam? "Well, brother and sister-in-laws do fall for each other but, blimey, she'd have to turn over all the photos she has of Paul! She couldn't cope with having Paul staring out at her while she was getting cosy with his brother."
