Claire King worries about her future on Corrie

Corrie’s Claire King has admitted she’s worried she could get her marching orders from the soap.

The actress – who has played Erica Holroyd since December 2014 – told the Mirror she isn’t certain she will be 'safe' now new boss Kate Oates has taken over the cobbles.

She confessed: “I don’t know if I will be safe.

“They always like to put their own stamp on things, I have been around the block a few times so I know how it works.”

Producer Kate killed off a few characters when she took charge at Emmerdale – where Claire used to play Kim Tate – and it has sparked speculation that Corrie will be subject to a similar shake-up.

When Claire landed her position in Weatherfield she did admit that it had been on her 'bucket list of jobs you dream of doing', but she told the Mirror she will be OK if Erica does get the chop.

“It will be fine if she feels the character does not work. We are all self-employed and you adapt and change when things happen,” said the actress, who has also dabbled in reality TV with stints on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother.

And the 53-year-old is convinced Kate will be good for the soap.

“We have all seen what she has done with Emmerdale,” she said.
