Coronation Street is to feature Weatherfield's answer to Bonnie and Clyde - as tearaway twosome David Platt and Kylie Turner are set to tie the knot. The pair, played by Jack P Shepherd and Paula Lane, leave their families shocked when Gail's son David returns from holiday engaged to the wayward lass. Becky McDonald believed she had seen the last of her half-sister last year when Kylie sold her son Max to her and husband Steve. Both the McDonalds and the Platts hope the couple from hell will soon go their separate ways, but David and Kylie immediately start planning a spring wedding. A Coronation Street spokeswoman said: "Kylie and David are trouble as individuals so the thought of the two of them getting together is a nightmare prospect for both their families. "But it will certainly make for exciting viewing for Corrie fans - Kylie and David are fantastic characters and there is no end to the trouble they will cause for everyone." Paula Lane has been shortlisted in the Most Popular Newcomer category at the National Television Awards.
