The Nicola Rubinstein star has already ticked off a screen kiss and a sex scene…ish

Corrie star Nicola Thorp, who plays social worker Nicola Rubinstein, says she can’t wait for her character to give birth on the soap, because she’ll be able to tick off another item on her bucket list.

Social worker Nicola is currently pregnant with Gary Windass’s baby. She and the builder slept together last September, when he cheated on her with then girlfriend Sarah Platt.

Says the popular actress: “I’m really excited about filming the birth, and it’s one of the things on my bucket list. I always wanted to have a screen kiss, which I’ve now done, I wanted to have a sex scene - that technically happened during the adverts so I’ve semi-ticked that - and then there’s giving birth.”

She adds: “And I want a screen death as well, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen for a while!”

The 29 year old actress says she’s watched C4 documentary series “One Born Every Minute” to prepare for the upcoming scenes, and also spoken to friends who have children.

She adds: ‘I’ve not had the scripts through yet, but I’ve heard rumours of it being quite a traumatic birth, which is great, because it’s something to get my teeth into.”

Coronation Street continues on ITV.
