Former Coronation Street actress Debra Stephenson and Ex-EastEnders star Marc Bannerman are among the celebrities putting themselves behind bars for the latest reality TV show. Actor Will Mellor, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! champ Joe Pasquale and investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre also experience life as inmates in some of 'the world's harshest prisons' for Prisoner: X, a new series for Virgin1. Adrenaline junkie Jack Osbourne, athlete Linford Christie and author Toby Young also take part in the show. Marc is locked up in Germany, and Debra in the US, while Britain's former Olympic 100 metres gold champion Linford spends time in Belize's Central Prison. Donal, best known for locking up criminals, experiences life in a grimy cell usually reserved for those facing the death penalty in Louisiana State Penitentiary. Jack was strip searched in Shelby County Jail, Memphis. But none of the celebrities endure life in a British jail - a spokeswoman for the show said she did not know whether that was because conditions in British prisons were not harsh enough. Daniela Neumann, Virgin1's director of programming, said: "For the first time ever we will genuinely see these celebrities eat, sleep and shower in the most disgusting prisons in the world."
