Ex Corrie star Bruce Jones reveals: I live on benefits
Former Coronation Street star Bruce Jones has spoken of how he had to swallow his pride and sign on the dole after running out of money.
Bruce, who played Les Battersby in the ITV soap, receives JobSeeker’s Allowance and has part of his rent paid.
Speaking ahead of an appearance in a documentary about celebrities who now live on benefits, he told The Sun: “It’s been a journey I never thought I’d go on.”

The 62-year-old left Coronation Street in 2007 after making inappropriate comments to an undercover reporter and revealing future storylines.
Three years later he was handed a suspended sentence for dangerous driving after admitting yanking the steering wheel from his then wife Sandra while she was driving.

He was drunk and had shouted “I’ll kill us both” during the incident in North Wales in 2009.

Bruce, who appeared in Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, said he wants to work, but could not do a 'normal' job, preferring to act.
He will feature alongside former Big Brother contestant Lisa Appleton in Channel Five’s Celebs On Benefits: Fame To Claim on June 25.
The father-of-four who was born in Manchester and lives in Wales, told the Sun: “Pride is the biggest sin of them all. I just had to swallow mine and do it (sign on).”
