Peter Barlow is only just coming to terms with Carla's pregnancy when mistress Tina reveals that she too may be pregnant in Coronation Street.

The shock news is too much for the thin-skinned recovering alcoholic to take and he hits the bottle, going on a bender that's only stopped when Steve McDonald sees him and puts him into a hotel for the night. Peter then realises with horror the next day that he's told Steve everything!
