Soap Awards: Kym Ryder wins Best Newcomer (VIDEO)

Coronation Street star Kym Ryder walked off with the Best Newcomer trophy at the British Soap Awards on Saturday night. Originally nominated in the Sexiest Female category as well, Kym seemed far from disappointed to win Best Newcomer for her role as barmaid Michelle Connor. As she pointed out, when she originally appeared on Coronation Street last year it was only meant to be for four episodes. To have become a central cast member so quickly meant she'd proven herself as an actress.
