What is it with the Connors and death? Coronation Street star Alison King reveals another victim and another cover up! There’s a death at the factory... What happens? "It’s a genuine accident. Carla and some of the girls are woking late and one of the Polish girls, Kasia, falls down the stairs and dies! It’s one of those sudden soap deaths." So why does Carla cover up the death? "Because the late working’s not strictly legit. Carla knows this, but feels forced into it. A clothes order has been doubled and she’s desperate to meet it. She wants her business to be above board but she needs money to start things and has to break some rules." Does she hide the body then or what? "No! But instead of ringing 999 she calls Paul. She panics and thinks he’ll know what to do." And that’s not call an ambulance right? "Not immediately... The problem is the factory’s not insured for Kasia’s death as she was working illegally for Carla. He tells Carla that they "should wait for a few hours and make it look like Kasia was one of his workers. That way it’ll look like she died on Paul’s time and the factory will then be insured." In other words lie about the death just like he did about Michelle’s husband’s death? "I know. Carla’s not at all happy about it but she knows she doesn’t have much choice." Does anyone else know what really happened? "Vicki, the other Polish girl, knows. That’s another worry, but Carla has a bright idea. She bribes Vicki, saying they have to make out that Kasia died when she did or there’ll be no money to send to her family. Vicki seems ok about going along with this." Is Liam in on it? "Not initially. He arrives early at the factory the next day before they’ve called the emergency services and he’s furious." But he goes along with it. "Yes. Eventually he agrees to stick to their story, but he’s had it with Carla and tells her he wants her and her business out of the factory." What happens when the police arrive? They seem to believe the Connors’ story which is a relief - until they mention a post-mortem!" But it would still be an accidental death? "It would show that Kasia died earlier than the Connors said... and that will mean trouble." Are any of the regular factory girls suspicious? "Not to begin with although they do pick up on the strained atmosphere and the tension between the Connors. They also think it’s strange that Liam chucks Carla out and the fact that the factory is closed while a forensic team get to work." This is the second death hushed up by the family. Will both deaths come back to haunt them? "I should say so! They haven’t actually killed anyone, but they’re still not going to be allowed to get away with what they’ve done..."
