Six Dancing On Ice skaters have already found themselves in hospital before the new series has even got underway, according to reports. Coronation Street's Andy Whyment, who is one of the lucky ones to have escaped uninjured, told The Sun that the celebrities have been told that it's "the worst start to a series" that the show has ever had. Former pop star Chesney Hawkes could be forced to miss Sunday's opening episode after injuring his leg while training on New Year's Day, the newspaper said. Sugababe Heidi Range was taken to A&E after fearing she'd broken her wrist, while her professional partner has pulled out of the opening episode of the ITV1 show due to a torn bicep. EastEnder Laila Morse ripped muscles in her shoulder and needs an operation - which she is delaying until after the series - and Jennifer Ellison had to go to hospital to have her leg strapped up after she twisted her kneecap while attempting to do the splits. Keith Chegwin had to leave the series months ago after smashing his collar bone and ribs at his first training session. Among the other stars taking part in the show - fronted by Phillip Schofield and new host Christine Bleakley - are Dallas actress Charlene Tilton, 1980s actor Corey Feldman and skier Chemmy Alcott. Also appearing in the series are fitness guru Rosemary Conley, children's TV presenters Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, TV presenter Andy Akinwolere, Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden, Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter, and founder of freerunning Sebastien Foucan.
