Doc Martin star Joe Absolom is set to appear in a six part online crime series written by Torchwood, Doctor Who and Spooks writer James Moran. The actor will be joined by another Eastenders star Tracey-Ann Oberman in Girl Number 9, the BBC has reported. James Moran will also direct some of the episodes of the series about a murderer who is arrested for killing seven girls. The drama – which starts online on the Girl Number 9 website next month – will be made up of six five-minute episodes. An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
