David Tennant has revealed he is in talks to star in a film adaptation of Hamlet. The Doctor Who star - who is stepping down as the Timelord after four specials this year - has been playing the Danish Prince on stage in Shakespeare's tragedy with the RSC and may now be taking his role to the screen. David told Absolute Radio's Christian O'Connell a film version of Hamlet is a 'possibility', adding: "It's being talked about and it would be good if we could make it work but it's quite complicated." He went on: "The plan as I've heard it is that it would be quite a small-scale thing for the BBC. I think we would find a location and do it, but it wouldn't be done like a full drama either, it would consciously portray its theatrical roots." The actor, who turns 38 next week, is currently filming his final scenes of Doctor Who. Asked if he would ever appear opposite former Doctor Who co-star Billie Piper in Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, David said: "There was a plan to do that in the first year. The dates didn't work out so I couldn't do it, but it involved some reins I believe. I was happy to be trussed up in any way that Billie saw fit!" Keep up to date with all the latest sci-fi shows.
