He's about to exit EastEnders, but Danny-BoyHatchard has no regrets and says his three years on the BBC1 soap has been 'such a break'.
Danny-Boy plays Lee Carter, an ex soldier who's had to deal with crippling depression and financial problems.
Danny-Boy told What's on TV at the National TV Awards: "[EastEnders] has given me a very nice platform to be honest. A lot of people have really opened up about Lee's storyline and come forward. I was on This Morning not too long ago and a lot of people phoned about their issues, a lot of people have approached me in the street..."
"My time at EastEnders I think, leading up to that, because it's been such a slow burner the storyline, I think it was all worthwhile because I've been able to give something back."
He added: "I've been very fortunate in my career to have had such a break as EastEnders. I've been there for three years and to have people come up to you to say they've admired your work and you've affected them in a positive way, I don't think there's any award that could top that."
Danny-Boy also says the bus crash is up there with the best of EastEnders' stunts. Some believe Lee is laying beneath the bus and it may involve his exit scenes.
