EastEnders: Bobby Beale set to face trial for Lucy's murder

EastEnders will ramp up the drama as young Bobby Beale (Eliot Carrington), surely Walford's most troubled resident ever, is set to put his family through more emotional torture.

After finally admitting the truth about murdering his sister Lucy, a nervous Bobby has to face court with his torn father Ian (Adam Woodyatt) by his side.

In scenes to be shown in mid-June, Bobby awaits the judge’s decision. Will he face a prison sentence?

Just over two years ago, Bobby killed his sister Lucy. Her body was found on Walford Common after the lad's misguided stepmother Jane (Laurie Brett) tried to protect him by removing Lucy’s body from the family home and setting up a new 'crime scene' in a desperate attempt to fool police into thinking she had been killed during a mugging.

The live 30th anniversary episode in February 2015 stunned viewers when Bobby was revealed as the murderer. And last Christmas, he finally admitted the truth.

His revelation came too late for Max Branning (Jake Wood) who had been sleeping with Lucy and is now doing time for her murder. Jane's ill-advised plans to protect the boy have also gone horribly wrong after he walloped her with a hockey stick and left her clinging to life.

Will justice finally be done for Lucy? And does this mean Bobby will leave the Square and Max will return?

EastEnders continues on Monday at 8pm on BBC1
