Selling his body for sex sounds like Mickey Miller's dream job, says EastEnders star Joe Swash... Things have been tough for Mickey on the job front, but working as a male escort? Mickey's reaction is quite unexpected, after Li advertises him in the Walford Gazette... "Mickey thinks it’s a great idea. For years he’s been the most under-sexed man in Britain and now he’s found a way of getting his leg over regularly and getting paid for it with his girlfriend’s approval. It pretty much sounds like a dream job!" It will also get Li off his case. She’s been growing cannabis to make ends meet and blames it on Mickey's pitiful cashflow... "Li is a feisty bird and Mickey wants to keep her sweet." But prostitution doesn’t really bode well for the romance... "Mickey’s not in love with Li – he’s just desperate for some action. He hadn’t had a look in with women for ages before she came around. If he had deep feelings for her, of course he wouldn’t want to be a gigolo." And how does Joe feel about his character being pimped? "It’s brilliant! [Laughter] I got a bit sick of Mickey’s celibacy and now there’s a chance that it’ll be raining women. I haven’t really had any big storylines of my own for a while so it’s nice to have something to get my teeth into." Being a gigolo might be glamorous work in the movies but it’s bound to go horribly wrong in Walford... "Mickey might end up with a man wanting sex – or perhaps Pat will be his first client!" In real-life, Joe is looking forward to some drama of his own – his girlfriend Emma is expecting their first child in May... "I love kids. I am the broodiest boy in the world. If there’s ever a kid on set I have to grab it and give it a kiss. I want a family of three." In between nappy changes, Joe will also be supporting the British Heart Foundation’s Help a Heart campaign in June. "I lost my dad to heart disease when I was young and it was really difficult. So, I’m wearing my heart on my sleeve for the Have a Heart campaign."
