One-time Emmerdale actor Stephen Rahman-Hughes has joined the cast of EastEnders as dentist Adam Bateman and rumoured new love interest for Honey Mitchell!
Word on the street, EastEnders' Honey Mitchell is getting a new love interest in the shape of dishy dentist Adam Bateman, who arrives on screen later this summer. And it sounds like Adam will be doing all he can to woo Honey away from hubby Billy, who cheated on Honey a while back with friend Tina Carter?
The character will be played by Stephen Rahman-Hughes, who Emmerdale fans may recognise from his role as DI Vikesh Dasari who, along with DCI Grace Barraclough (played by Glynis Barber) investigated the murder of Tom King. He has also previously had roles in telly shows including BBC One's Doctors, ITV's Bad Girls and Sky 1's soccer soap Dream Team.
Adam will also be revealed to be the foster son of Arshad and Mariam Ahmed.
"I’m really happy to be joining such an iconic show I’ve grown up watching and with such an awesome cast," Stephen wrote on Instagram.
EastEnders producer John Yorke said: "We are all delighted to welcome Stephen to the cast of EastEnders. Adam will create a big impression on Honey when she first meets him and with links to the Square in Mariam and Arshad, viewers can look forward to Adam causing quite the stir in Walford in coming months."
