Terry Alderton tells Soaplife that his character Terry takes it on the chin when he finds out his son, TJ, is the father of Cindy’s baby in EastEnders!

What does Terry think when Ian accuses Liam of getting Cindy pregnant?

“Terry is like a kid. He finds it quite funny; he keeps walking off and smiling. Then Liam drops this line which indicates that he can’t be the dad and we all look at each other and think, ‘What?’”

What? Indeed…

“Terry is turfing Ian out when TJ says, ‘You can’t do that’ and reveals that it’s his baby.”

Is Terry still laughing?

“He’s not fazed by much. He takes it on the chin and thinks ‘Let’s make the best of it, celebrate it’.”

How does Terry feel about TJ keeping this secret from him?

“This has been an ongoing thing with Terry and TJ. He keeps saying to the lad, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ But I think that’s normal with teenagers and their parents. Terry is quite hurt by it, but he realises that TJ kept quiet because he didn’t want to let him down.”

Then he finds out TJ told David…

“There is a moment where David and TJ are talking about it and Terry realises that David must have known. Terry loses it and has to leave the house before things get too much.”

How does Terry feel about being a grandfather?

“Terry is happy with his lot. If he gets dealt a certain card, he will play the hand accordingly. Being a grandad at such a young age will give him something to talk about with his cabbie mates.”
