Joe Swash wants EastEnders return

Joe Swash has said he would be keen to return to EastEnders if he got the chance.

The actor played Mickey Miller from 2003 to 2008, who made a brief reappearance in 2011 for his brother Darren’s wedding, but admitted that he was eyeing a more full-time role in Walford.

He told The Sun: “I’ve got a really good relationship with EastEnders. I am up there quite a lot. I will definitely go back one day.”

He said that Gillian Taylforth’s surprise return as Kathy Beale in the 30th anniversary live week of the soap had encouraged him to think that a comeback for Mickey could be possible.

Joe said: “I loved playing Mickey Miller and if Kathy Beale can come back from the dead, that always gives us other actors hope.

“Sometimes characters run out of storylines and they like to move you on.”

Since leaving the BBC soap, Joe has won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and hosted its ITV2 spin-off show.
