Shona McGarty 'dating' boy band member

EastEnders star Shona McGarty has reportedly found love again following her split from Matt Lapinskas.

The actress - who plays Whitney Dean in the soap - split from her former co-star during his Dancing On Ice stint earlier this year.

However according to The Sun she is now dating Ryan Wilkins, a member of new boy band Projekt Weekend.

The paper reports that Shona - who is also an aspiring pop star - was spotted holding hands with Ryan on a date earlier this week.

“She wasn’t looking for a relationship as she’d just split up from Matt and they were very much in love," a source told the paper.

“But she and Ryan have bonded over their love of music, as she also sings and would love to be a recording artist."

The insider added: “He’s a good-looking guy and things just fell into place.

“It’s early days but they’ve got more dates set up and he’s keen for her to see his band.”

Shona and Matt split amid rumours that he had fallen for his skating partner Brianne Delcourt.

He later admitted: "I would have still done Dancing On Ice even though it has cost me my relationship. It's the show I always wanted to do."

Matt finished second in the final of the series, losing out to Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle.
