Todd Carty returns to Grange Hill
Todd Carty will be returning to Grange Hill as Tucker Jenkins for the last ever episode of the long-running BBC school drama. Ex-EastEnders'star Todd appeared as teen tearaway Peter 'Tucker' Jenkins in the first ever episode of Grange Hill, which is being axed after 30 years. Todd will make a special appearance in the final episode, which airs on September 8, as the uncle of Patrick 'Togger' Johnson (played by Chris Perry-Metcalf), who faces being thrown out of Sixth Form as he's behind on his coursework. Just like Tucker was all those years ago, Togger is stubborn and his friends think that his Uncle Peter is the only one who can talk sense into him. Todd commented: "Going back to Grange Hil was hugely nostalgic and quite emotional. I was sat having lunch in the canteen with all the kids during filming and getting a little misty-eyed. "I was one of those kids 30 years ago. I'd wake up every morning excited about going to the studio. Grange Hil was the best time of my life." Older viewers can also take a trip down memory lane as the show's instantly recognisable theme tune has been brought back, and the show's first comic book title sequence has been given a revamp.
