Emmerdale: Robert’s shooter revealed ‘and lives unravel’ in special episode this week

As Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) lies in a coma after someone tried to kill him, an increasingly long line of Emmerdale residents have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and then released…

But could the prison door be about to be slammed shut on the real shooter?

In a special, hour-long rewind episode this Thursday, Emmerdale will reveal who really shot Robert - and why.

“Secrets are revealed and lives unravel,” promises our Emmerdale insider.

First it was Robert's brother, Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) who was the key suspect, as he claimed that Robert had confessed to killing his wife, Katie.

“He’s taken everything from me,” Andy told step mum Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) and sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).

Andy was the first suspect in the Robert shooting

But Andy could prove he wasn’t even in the village at the time of the shooting.

Then Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) pointed the police in the direction of Robert’s wife Chrissie (Louise Marwood), still blaming her for his wife Val’s death.

“He took my life and he crushed it. That's what he does,” Chrissie sobbed, after discovering Robert had been cheating on her with Aaron Livesy.

Chrissie was jailed on suspicion of attempted murder, then freed

That certainly gave her motive. But her father, Lawrence (John Bowe), couldn’t let her suffer in prison and told the police he shot Robert.

Then video footage was seen of Aaron hiding the gun and now he’s swapped places with Lawrence in prison.

But Aaron (Danny Miller) swears he didn’t do it. He was hiding the gun because he thought his mum, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) had shot Robert.

Aaron is now the prime suspect in the Robert shooting. But did he do it?

“This whole thing's messed up," says Aaron, as he tries to work out who did pull the trigger.

Back in the village for the big reveal is Chrissie’s son, Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson).

“Is Robert dead?” Lachlan asks Lawrence. Does he want him to be?
