Leyla in tearful confession tonight as Emmerdale reveal Maya Stepney ATTACK

Flashback to night out in Emmerdale showing Maya looking scared

Leyla gets emotional this evening as she recalls the dreadful events in the woods...

Emmerdale are set to reveal tonight how Maya Stepney was "attacked" in the woods after being unmasked for grooming teenager student Jacob Gallagher - as his mum Leyla makes a tearful confession.

Time will flash back to the fateful big night out at a nightclub in Hotten, as Leyla (Roxy Shahidi), Priya (Fiona Wade) and Tracy (Amy Walsh) confront Maya - who's now missing - about what they’ve seen her doing with Jacob.

The trio then offer Maya (Louisa Clein) a lift home, but instead of heading back to Emmerdale, they instead take her on a terrifying drive, but somehow she manages to flee.

But, the pursuit doesn’t stop there and the women chase Maya into the woods.

When they finally catch up with Maya, their anger gets the better of them and it's thought they attack her.

But just how far will the trio go to make Maya pay for what she has done to Jacob? Does she manage to somehow survive their revenge plan, or have the three women now got blood on their hands?

Tonight, back in the present, Leyla will talk about what happened after Priya told her she saw Maya kissing her teenage son.

In a clip from this evening, Leyla says tearfully: “I’m sorry, I never meant for it to happen. I didn’t think for one second the night was going to end like that - it was just meant to be fun.”

She adds: “It was just like this chain of events. It was one thing after another. And I couldn’t stop it…”

But what exactly couldn’t she stop? And did she bludgeon Maya? Or was one of the other women dishing out the blows?

Watch Emmerdale tonight at 7pm and 8pm to find out what really happened to Maya in the woods on that fateful night.
