Soap actor David Easter has been questioned by police on suspicion of rape, it has emerged.
A woman in her 40s is believed to have made a complaint about the Emmerdale actor over an alleged historic sex attack.
Mr Easter was quizzed by Scotland Yard’s Sapphire sex crime unit, reports the Mirror.
His lawyer Julian Lee said: “He has been interviewed under caution and the investigation is ongoing.”
Mr Easter, 54, attended Sutton police station in Surrey by appointment following the complaint in December 2013.
Speaking at his house in West London, Mr Easter said: “I have no comment to make. I have a big dog here.”
The married father of two played Gil Keane in Emmerdale towards the end of 2013, dating Megan Macey while Declan tried to get him to invest in Home Farm.

Mr Easter has also starred in Brookside and Family Affairs.
Scotland Yard confirmed it was investigating a rape allegation made on December 13.
