Adele has sold millions of records and played sell-out concerts all over the world, but how did a girl from Tottenham in North London, who showed barely any interest in traditional schooling become one of the biggest stars on the planet?

Taking in her education at the BRITS Academy, where she rubbed shoulders with Jessie J and Leona Lewis, the whistlestop tour also takes in her three albums, 19, 21 and 25 (the age she was when she made them), all three of which been massive sellers.

And not forgetting the invitation to write the theme music for the James Bond movie Skyfall – one of the better Bond themes of recent decades, and winner of the Best Original Song Academy Award.

This special documentary takes a look at the singer’s personal life as well as her career to date, and recounts stories of heartache that Adele has used as fuel for her songs.

There are, of course, the remarkable performances that led to her meteoric rise to stardom. But also interviews with old school friends, tales from the recording studio and contributions from a host of famous friends.

By the end of this one-off documentary we know at least a little more about why the world loves the London-born singer so much…
