The Robshaws find themselves in a strange decade that brings rapid progress, poverty for some and plenty for others

After enjoying the pleasure-seeking 1920s, the Robshaws find themselves in a strange decade that brings rapid progress, poverty for some and plenty for others – and a sense of creeping dread that comes with their knowledge of the horrors that were soon to befall the world.
