The Blues Brothers - ITV4

Jake and Elwood Blues (John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd) are reunited after Jake's release from prison

Jake and Elwood Blues (John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd) are reunited after Jake's release from prison.

They visit the Chicago orphanage where they were raised and Sister Mary Stigmata (Kathleen Freeman) tells them that the place is due to be closed unless they can pay back $5000 in taxes. She refuses, however, to accept stolen money.

So what can these crooked boys do? Help is at hand when, during a musical sermon at church, Jake is seized by a 'holy mission' to raise the money legitimately by reviving the old Blues Brothers band.

On the way, the brothers brush with the cops over traffic violations, a group of neo-Nazis and a deadly woman (Carrie Fisher) who keeps trying to kill the boys as they set off to round up their musicians.

John Landis' cult comedy is full of belly laughs and boasts fabulous car chases, involving the entire police force of Chicago, as well as great music from the likes of Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Ray Charles.
