On 3 January 2018 the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, based near Aviemore in Scotland, announced that its female polar bear Victoria had given birth to a cub – the first polar bear to be born in captivity in the UK for 25 years.

This one-off documentary goes behind the scenes at the park to follow the extraordinary efforts of the keepers to enable Victoria and male bear Arktos to successfully mate.

Born in mid-December, the cub has been off-limits to visitors while it bonds with its mum and the little bear finds its paws in its Scottish home.

At least it won’t have minded the recent snowy weather…
