AAU nurse Cara gets a shock when her missing copper husband Jed (ex-EastEnders star Jody Latham) turns up on the ward! It turns out he's been working deep undercover as the best friend of a local gangster, whose pregnant wife Nicole is admitted to Holby after a fall. Cara suspects Nicole's been assaulted, but Jed begs her not to dig too deep into the case or reveal she knows him, otherwise lives could be put at risk… Later, Jed promises a frightened Cara that, when the case is over, they’ll start a new life together. But Cara's future hopes are destroyed when it appears Nicole's baby isn't her husband's… it's Jed's!
