Battery farm chickens plot to escape in this super animation from the team behind Wallace and Gromit
Battery farm chickens plot to escape in this super animation from the team behind Wallace and Gromit.
Ginger (voiced by Julia Sawalha) and her fellow battery chickens are keen to flee the miserable confines of Tweedy’s Farm, where if they stop laying eggs they’ll end up in a pie.
She figures out that their best chance of getting out is with the arrival of Rocky the Flying Rooster (Mel Gibson) after he crash-lands in their compound.
Directed by Nick Park and Peter Lord, the film has exceptional fun sending up prisoner of war films such as The Great Escape and Stalag 17 and is brimming with funny lines and great set pieces - the extended gag in which Rocky and Ginger tumble into a pie machine is slapstick silliness of the most creative kind.
Cock-a-hoop with exuberant fun and cutely modelled characters, this will leave the entire family feeling eggstatic.
