It's 2019, and Ethan Hawke is a blood expert working to reverse the effects of an epidemic that's turned the population into vampires.

The remaining humans are being hunted by the Vampire Army, held in factory farms, drained of their blood and then dumped as trash. Working in Australia, Hawke rebels and joins a group of former vampires (including Claudia Karvan) who have found a way of becoming human again.

Writer-director brothers Michael and Peter Spierig make the most of the interesting set-up, with super effects and photography and loads of gory action. Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill all give quality performances in this must-see for vampire movie fans.
