Nick Knowles and the team undertake their longest build, constructing two buildings for the Grenfell community to create spaces worth around £2million

On 14 June 2017 a fire in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower flats in West London led to the tragic deaths of 72 people.

Other residents were injured, made homeless and left traumatised.

Almost a year later, BBC1’s DIY SOS team completed work on two very special buildings for the Grenfell community.

One was a new boxing club and the other a community centre.

This special edition that concludes next week, looks at the progress of their work.

Follow Nick Knowles and the team, plus volunteers and the Duke of Cambridge, who visits the site, as they create a new home for the Dale Youth Boxing Club.

'The consensus was that the boxing club was really important to young people in the area,' explains Nick.

'Meanwhile, a multi-use community centre was seen as the way forward for groups who wanted to use it.'

More than a construction job, this is about building trust and hope in a remarkable community.
