EastEnders’ Sonia Fowler is stunned to see hubby Martin Fowler in the hospital when she visits daughter Bex Fowler in Monday's episode (7.00 pm, see our TV Guide for full Listings). Bex’s dad Martin has been ignoring Sonia's attempts to tell him about the shock events that put Bex in hospital and Sonia gives him some home truths.
Martin feels full of guilt over not being there for Bex but he can’t share the real reason that he’s stayed away from Walford. He talks to mate Kush Kazemi about the situation, and with wife Stacey Fowler’s attack on Phil Mitchell to protect, he agrees that it’s best he leave before Phil’s son Ben Mitchell sees him. When Sonia begs Martin to stay, and after a heart-to-heart with Bex, Martin promises his daughter he’ll stick around. Meanwhile, Ben is under pressure to pay back Kheerat Panesar for the car he stole when he spots Martin across the Square…
Kathy Beale reluctantly agrees to give Rainie Branning some shifts in the café, despite her son Ian Beale’s warning that it will all end in tears. It’s not long before Rainie causes trouble and Ian tells her she’s had her last chance. A distraught Rainie plans to drown her sorrows with booze but after seeing a sweet note from boyfriend Stuart Highway she gets rid of it. Rainie breaks down and when Kathy finds her in a state she assumes she’s drunk and tells her she can’t see baby Abi.
Karen Taylor is touched when Bailey Baker asks her to be her legal guardian. But when Bailey finds out that Karen knew about her mum Dinah’s plan to take her own life, she’s devastated. Bailey tells an upset Karen that she doesn’t want her to be her adopted mum, revealing she knows that Karen knew what an ill Dinah plotting.
