It’s nine weeks on and governor Hildur (Sofie Gråbøl) is determined to stay put, despite the advice of the government official (Ken Stott) sent to tidy up the mess.

But with a strange 'blood aurora' illuminating the night sky, a grisly discovery in the snow and sheriff Dan Anderssen missing, all is still not right in Fortitude…
