As Ghosts, BBC1's silly and spooky comedy continues, the inhabitants of Button Hall (living and dead) have new challenges this week

The ghosts have a new enemy – the builders – and Julian, the trouserless MP (Simon Farnaby), and the Army captain (Ben Willbond) take it upon themselves to get them ousted, by fair means or foul – actually, there's no fairness involved.

Meanwhile, Alison (Charlotte Ritchie, pictured above with co-star Kiell Smith-Bynoe) tries to give intellectually challenged Kitty (Lolly Adefope) some sex education, as she thinks babies are made by pressing ears together, and Thomas (Mathew Baynton), who, according to caveman Robin (Laurence Rickard) ‘is big love with Kim Wilde’, finds inspiration for his poetry from the radio as he channels pop princess Kylie.

Living at the haunted Button Hall is a blast for Mike and Alison

But this week is all about Scout leader Pat (Jim Howick), as he awaits a visit from his family on the anniversary of his death – and we find out how he got the arrow through his neck.

There are some tender moments between Pat and Alison, as he enlists her help to send his relatives a message.
