After all their adventures in the Amazon last week, you’d think Lady Alex would steer well clear of charming rogue Hooten, but she's a glutton for punishment and this week the pair are haring about Rome on the hunt for an ancient book which could have the power to predict the future.

Their search takes them from the Sistine Chapel to the sewers as they become embroiled with nuns, the mafia and even a crocodile.

Look out for Jane Seymour nearly stealing the show with a lovely turn as Alex's mum, Lady Tabitha, who's in Italy to help Alex choose her wedding dress but who soon becomes involved in her daughter's dangerous quest.
