Alex Polizzi isn't one for resting on her laurels. But then neither is bar owner and wannabe hotelier John from Southport, Merseyside. He runs a successful bar and wants to turn the space above it into a 14-room hotel.

John has grand ambitions for a business empire that he wants up and running yesterday, so Alex's first challenge is to get him to slow down and concentrate on getting the rooms finished and full before starting yet another new business.

But after a serious health scare three years ago, John is determined to live life to the full – his drive and ambition are unstoppable, but his hotel experience is zero, which is all too obvious when Alex spends the night at the fledgling business.
