A star-studded roster of musical artists turn out in Last Night of the Proms from Around the UK

YolanDa Brown and Josie d'Arby introduce a breathless dash around the UK in this roundup of the best musical action from last week's Last Night of the Proms.

Susan Boyle is a standout in this round-up of Proms action from the four corners of the UK, though fans of the welter of other artists might disagree.

At Swansea's Singleton Park 1980s pop band ABC take their turn on the stage with West End star Sophie Evans, 2019 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Andrei Kymach, and BBC Young Jazz Musician 2018 winner, saxophonist Xhosa Cole.

In Glasgow, Barbara Dickson runs through some of her big hits and old favourites alongside Scottish soprano Eleanor Dennis and violinist Stephanie Childress.

Susan Boyle, meanwhile, is at Titanic Slipways, Belfast. With her on the line-up are Australian tenor Mark Vincent and award-winning violinist Ziyu He.

Before she sang, Susan told TV Times how she was feeling: "I’m very excited! It’s my first time performing in Northern Ireland and to be a part of such a wonderful production is very exciting.

"There’s something magical about performing alongside an orchestra outdoors. I’ll be singing the song [I Dreamed a Dream] that started my career. I couldn’t miss that off the list!"

Closer to the Albert Hall, venue for last week's flag-waving finale, YolanDa Brown is in Hyde Park, London, to capture a line-up that includes Chrissie Hynde, Jack Savoretti and Barry Manilow.

A lively line-up that offers a bit of something for most tastes.
