LEGO fans battle it out in a series of fiendish challenges

LEGO has been a much-loved toy for decades and, this week, C4 kicks off a search to find the UK’s most talented LEGO builders.

Fronted by Melvin Odoom and judged by Matthew Ashton, LEGO’s vice president of design, it sees eight pairs of amateur LEGO enthusiasts compete against each other in a series of challenges to test their design, originality and construction skills.

Structural engineer Roma Agrawal joins Matthew to judge the first task, in which the teams must build a super-sized banquet… with a chair that can hold Melvin's weight. Our favourites are uncle Daniel and nephew Jack, and their inspired idea for a throne… a toilet! But will Melvin end up down the pan?
