Further comic adventures in angling in BBC2’s Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing this week with Bob, Paul and… a tomato?

Among the many delights BBC2's Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing continues to deliver, seeing Bob Mortimer fall over and his mixed reaction of shock, fear and excitement at hooking a fish always raise a smile.

Both boxes are ticked in this week’s episode, which sees our intrepid anglers, Bob and fellow comedian Paul Whitehouse (both pictured above), venturing out to sea – reluctantly, in Bob’s case – off the Cornish coast.

The soundtrack includes the Judy Garland number Get Happy, which is certainly an apt choice for a show that never fails to cheer us up.

A visit to a tearoom prompts some nostalgic chat about their respective mums.

And you may find that you’re asking yourself what Bob asks Paul: ‘What’s the tomato in your life?’

Delightful.
