Forty years after his death, Elvis is still always on our minds

This week, 40 years ago (Wednesday 16 August), Elvis Presley died at his Memphis home, Graceland, at the absurdly young age of 42.

This countdown of hits from the greatest-selling solo artist of all time (first shown in 2013) looks back at 20 songs chosen by his estate and voted for in an ITV poll.

Look out for tunes including Heartbreak Hotel and Always on My Mind, with singers including Michael Bublé revealing their favourites, as does Elvis’s former wife, Priscilla.

Earlier, at 8.00pm, there’s another chance to catch Elvis and Me, which sees Joanna Lumley meeting Priscilla and getting an exclusive tour of Graceland as she tries to find out more about the rock ’n’ roll star she idolised in the 1950s.
