The irrepressible blonde bombshell that is DI Viv Deering (Joanna Scanlan) returns to Friday Street Police Station with as big a bang as the bomb that sends her flying on her first day back.

The second series begins at the funeral of a member of a notorious crime family, which Viv and co are attending when it is targeted by a rival crew, causing more ashes to be scattered than planned.

Viv wants peace between the families, but gang boss Nora Attah, another fearless female, has other ideas. With this cast and Paul Abbott’s writing, it’s a raucous, rowdy and very welcome return for one of the best series on telly.
