It's the finale of five series of Ripper Street and there are a lot of loose ends to be tied up.

Not least the matter of – as Assistant Commissioner Dove put it last week – 'the leading police of Whitechapel murdered or murdering'. What he failed to add, of course, was that he is one of the latter.

Will he, and the corrupt Inspector Shine, finally be exposed?

And will Reid, Jackson and Caitlin manage to escape the certain fate that seems to be hanging over them?

It's a satisfying ending to the whole story, with a few surprises in store – and after seeing its first run on Amazon, some fans aren’t discounting a sixth series…
