For three weeks, this daytime series gives us unprecedented access to the A&E, Maternity, Day Surgery and Paediatrics units across Queen's Hospital in Romford, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, and the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle.
A single bed in each unit gets the fixed-rig documentary treatment, and the result is a rich portrait of life on the NHS frontline, showing the huge variety of patients, from a toddler with respiratory problems to a lady with Parkinson's.
