Tess hasn't hit the menopause – she's pregnant!

Suffering from nausea and hot flashes, Nurse Manager Tess suspects she may be hitting the menopause. So when Clinical Lead Zoe personally offers to do some tests, Tess happily agrees. But the results shock both women – Tess’s bloods show she’s pregnant!

Tess is crestfallen as Zoe offers her congratulations because, unknown to her colleague, she’s having a secret affair with married nurse Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw).

As the day wears on, Tess realises she needs to tell her toyboy lover she’s expecting his child before he heads off on holidays with his wife and their three children! It’s a hectic shift, however, and every time Tess tries to speak to Fletch, they’re interrupted.

Towards the end of the day, Tess gears herself up to tell Fletch the news – when his three kids burst into her office, followed by his wife! Will devout Catholic Tess decide to keep Fletch’s baby?

Elsewhere, Robyn’s natural caring side emerges when she has to look after an elderly prisoner, who has been brought into the ED having had a fall. But the case is more complicated than it first seems

Tom also has a stressful day when he decides to visit is father Peter in prison. Peter reveals the circumstances than led to his adoption as a child.
