If you love babies and One Born Every Minute, C5's three-part fly-on-the-wall series following midwives in the Scottish Highlands will no doubt deliver the goods.

Nicely narrated by Pam Ferris, who did her fair share of deliveries as Call the Midwife's Sister Evangelina, it follows the intimate relationship between midwives, expectant parents and newborns, not made easy by the fact that the nearest hospital is often hours away.

In this week's episode, midwife Morven Fioretti dashes to mum Anastasia Bird for an unscheduled home birth. After 90 minutes of labour, Olya Elizabeth makes a surreal appearance.

It's blood, sweat and tears, in the best possible way.
