And it's still extraordinary more than two decades on, telling the story of a boy's toys coming to life.

Favourite Woody the cowboy (voiced by Tom Hanks) is less than happy when he's ousted by flashy new figure Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen).

The fact that Buzz thinks that he's a real spaceman cues the comedy, while stand out sequences include a trip to a fast food restaurant, a gang of mutilated toys and the bullying kid next door and the exciting final race to catch up with owner Andy.

Funny, colourful, inventive and not to be missed, this is a classic family film for anyone who's ever had a favourite toy.

Toy Story 2 is on BBC1 Thursday at 3.45pm and, concluding the flawless trilogy, Toy Story 3 is on BBC1 Friday at 3.35pm.
