Vera investigates the discovery of an unidentified teenage boy's body in a coastal town's shipyard, and discovers that the quiet community conceals a serious drugs problem
Vera (Brenda Blethyn) finds herself at risk from a ‘county lines’ drug gang this week when her trusty Land Rover is violently driven off the road and she ends up in a ditch, bruised and shaken.
The warning shot doesn’t put Vera off hunting for the vicious killer of a teenage drug runner, however, and she’s soon donning her floppy hat again to sniff out the kingpin she believes committed the murder.
Her search puts her up against retired drug dealer Tony Briggs (Mark Addy) and a string of addicts too scared to grass on Mr Big.
But as the team get closer to the truth, has Vera been looking in the wrong place all along?
