Marriage is on the up again in Britain after 40 years of decline. The Wedding Day (10.00pm) follows the union of Serena and Jordan and meets their very different families.

Serena’s parents divorced and this will be the first time in years that the whole clan is in the same room – step-parents and all. You sense just how big a problem this might be when dad Steven enters the story: ‘My dad’s a big personality,’ says Serena. ‘He quite likes the focus to be on him; he’s not very good in situations when it’s not.’

This should go well, then…
