Holby anaesthetist Jesse is concerned when girlfriend, HCA Adele, faints on the ward. Adele suspects she might be pregnant and, when she does a test, they’re both shocked to learn she's having a baby! Carefree Jesse is thrown by the news but he already has a lot on his mind as Guy's offered him a three-month job in the States! Adele overhears and demands to know if Jesse wants the job – or their baby.
When they go for a scan, however, Adele learns there's no baby – the pregnancy test was positive as she has an ovarian cyst, which obstetrician Mr T removes immediately. As Mr T tells Jesse that Adele will need his support as they wait to find out if the cyst was cancerous, Jesse must decide if he'll stand by Adele…
Meanwhile, Fletch is adamant that he will give daughter Evie a great birthday, even though he's strapped for cash. But Fletch soon realises Evie doesn't care for monetary things – she simply misses her deceased mum...
Also, Serena is determined to take the next step with Angus. But when they disagree on a patient’s case, Serena realises that maybe he’s just not the right guy for her…
